Palomar College Governing Board Considering Smoke-Free Policy

The Palomar College governing board Tuesday, July 12, 2011 will consider banning smoking and tobacco from its properties in an effort to “promote the safety and health of students, employees and the public.” The proposal follows several years worth of planning by the Associated Student Government, staff, faculty and administrators, said college spokeswoman Laura Gropen. “There were a number of students who felt very strongly that for health purposes it was important not to have smoking on campus,” she said.
